Introduction:
cinematography is used to set and support the overall look and mood of a film's visual narrative. Cinematography are the big decisions made on lighting, camera filters and lenses when shooting a movie scene. Cinematography has an big impact on film or television to show a visual.
Background research:
cinematography is the art of photography and camerawork in film-making. There are all different type of shots in cinematography
- low angle shot- the camera angle is positioned below the eye line of the subject pointing upward
- extreme close up-shows only a subject's eyes or another part of their face
- medium shot-a camera angle shot from, medium distance
- medium close up shot-includes a character from their shoulders/chest area up to the top of the head
- extreme long shot-is a view from an even greater distance
Content application:
The information was used to do an assignment on canvas identify shot types and glossary on excel. Identify shot type purpose was make sure you understood the different types of shot and that you can identify them. Glossary in excel we had to wrote down all the different types of shots what's the conventional use, examples, and denotation.
Reflection:
I know cinematography has visual elements that are lighting, framing, camera angles, camera motion. I learned all the different types of shots connected to cinematography and how to identify them. What I want to know is what does it take to make the cinematography great and impactful.
